My first solo trip to Paris

| I just got back from my first solo trip and chose Paris, which honestly felt like a bold first choice. I had all the usual worries before going that I’d feel lonely, that I wouldn’t enjoy it on my own, or that the city would be overrated but it didn’t turn out that way. At first, Paris felt a bit overwhelming and intimidating, especially being alone in a busy, fast-paced place, but once I slowed down, I started to really enjoy it. The best moments weren’t even the big tourist attractions, but the simple things like sitting at a café watching people, wandering without a plan, or grabbing a croissant in the morning. There were a few moments of loneliness, especially in the evenings, but it felt more peaceful than sad, like I was learning to enjoy my own company. I also realized how much more you notice when you’re alone and how quickly your confidence grows when you rely only on yourself. That said, doing Paris solo isn’t the cheapest accommodation and food add up fast when you’re not splitting costs but overall it felt like the perfect first experience: a bit uncomfortable at first, but really rewarding in the end, and it definitely made me want to travel solo again.
