Mirroring a sheet to be read only?

Hello,

I have a rather important excel file at work to keep track of some things. I want to share one sheet of this file with others so they can reference the data when needed, but not have edit access.

I tried password protecting it, but it is somewhat awkward with how often it needs to be updated.

So I would like to mirror just one sheet of this file to another file. So that when the master file is updated, the mirrored file also updates with the changes. But at the same time, the mirrored file isn’t editable by users. I could share this mirrored file with others and not have to worry about someone editing or breaking the master file.

Is there any way to smoothly do this? Or is there some other way of going about sharing this data I haven’t thought of.

Edit: I am using the latest version of excel included with Office 365
