Backpacking europe at 17

Im not fully set on doing this yet, but can anyone share experiences on what it is like solo traveling as a minor? My mom keeps telling me to wait until im 18 but i just want to go around Europe for the summer since i am already planning to go to london (with family) and its in close proximity so i wouldnt have to pay as much to go places. If u did this at 17 pls give tips 🙏
