Traveling to Puerto Rico during 60-day grace period (F-1 visa)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently on an F-1 visa in the U.S. and my I-20 will expire soon . I'm asking this question about when I'll be within the 60-day grace period, and my visa itself is still valid. I was wondering if it’s okay to travel to Puerto Rico during this grace period and then return to the mainland U.S. afterward.

Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, I’m not sure if this counts as leaving the U.S. in terms of immigration status. Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how this works? I’d really appreciate any insight.

Thanks!
