Disappointed with P.Louise rumour base

Hi, I have started to use the P. Louise rumour base and on my third try I still notice that it gets cakey even when I use a small amount, then spread it and wait for it to dry. Has anyone else felt the same? I am trying to practise my make up in general for a photo shoot.
