PNW Roadtrip Suggestions

Hi all! I am planning a road trip for late May with my girlfriend. Neither of us have ever been to Oregon or Washington, we are from the east coast. I made a rough itinerary based on what we could get through in under a 2 week time while hitting the "can't miss" places. We also aren't huge hikers. My girlfriend has a bad back so any hiking we want to do is more on the light side but we can certainly still do a few miles.

We plan on flying into Portland and then flying out from Seattle. Here is my rough plan. Any advice on food or lodging would be greatly appreciated! I'm also open to any other tips or suggestions.

Portland
Day one - the city

  • Thrift stores
  • Restaurants/explore
  • The sports bra

Day two - Columbia River Gorge

  • Timberline lodge
  • Mt. Hood

Day three - drive to Salem
- Silver falls
- tulip farm on the way (possibly out of season)
- stay one night in salem

Day four - drive to the coast about then up Highway 101

  • Cannon beach and pelican brewing
  • 2+ hours up the coast - stopping along the way
  • Stay one night at cannon beach

Day five - Astoria

  • Drive to Astoria and do a day here
  • Stay one night here

Washington
Day six - eight - Olympia national park

  • Drive up is about 2.5 hrs from Astoria
  • Forks, la push, hole in the wall
  • Olympic hot springs
  • Stay in Port Angeles or forks for 2 or 3 nights?

Day nine - tacoma

  • Glass museum
  • Mt. Rainer
  • Stay one night in Tacoma

Day ten - City things

  • Stay the night in Seattle
  • Fly out of here
