My fashion confidence during and after college.

| Mannnnn…exploring my fashion side took a lot outta me. Where I’m from, youngbouls don’t usually dress the way I wanted to or do now, so I didn’t really have too many people to encourage me to embrace that side. That changed when I went to an HBCU. About a month or so after dropping down in that jawn my roommate saw the vision i didn’t and decided to give me a free shoot (he was a photographer). I just had to show up after class w/an outfit (1st group of photos). That helped boost my confidence a lot. But the real thing that sealed the deal was a little while after that, as I was beginning to get comfy rocking what I wanted to and how I wanted to when one of my good brothas threw the idea of me participating in a fashion show with an afterparty he was helping direct. Real wrap bro I was so honored to be even thought of potentially modeling..it really made me think after that; the people around me see the potential..so it’s time I did as well yamean? Before that I hadn’t really stepped foot off campus to a function due to me being a homebody, but something told me to break those chains just this one time and see how it went. Mannnn……(2nd group of photos for the show) When I tell you I felt like THAT boul after that show and my cut??? I rlly can’t describe how much it made me feel. Took some more photos literally the day after just because of that feeling. (3rd group of photos) And everything else after that is just stuff I put together afterwards. Even though I’m not in college anymore due to financial reasons, I will always be thankful for the experience and my bouls that helped me with my confidence. Don’t let ya environment or the people around control how YOU wanna dress. Surround yourself w/like minded people. Be thurl. Be confident. [link] [comments] |
