Hairstyling advice for long hair

Is it possible to achieve old Hollywood waves with long hair? I love so many hairstyles from old movies but I can’t seem to recreate them at home😭

I have thick hair which goes past my butt and I can’t get my hair to look anywhere close. I’d appreciate any advice!
